Advancing Critical Medical Logistics Through Long-Range UAV Simulation
18 December 2025
Savback Helicopters as Distributor for Dufour Aerospace, recently conducted a successful long-distance UAV simulation modelling an urgent medical transport between Visby Hospital and Norrköping Hospital together with Norrköping Airport, Region Gotland, Science Park Gotland, Aero EDIH, Jetpak, Saab and all project partners.
The results clearly demonstrate the strong societal value of long-range unmanned operations: faster delivery of vital medical supplies and a more efficient healthcare logistics chain. As the exclusive Scandinavian distributor for Dufour Aero-200, we see how its long range, hybrid-electric efficiency and BVLOS capability make it an ideal platform for real-world missions of this kind.
Its tiltwing capabilities combines the vertical takeoff flexibility of a helicopter with the efficiency of a fixed-wing aircraft, enabling long-range operations across challenging geographies like the Nordic region. Aero-200 is built for exactly these operations: reliable, scalable and ready to support critical services across the Nordic region.
The Aero-200 is a critical enabler for tomorrow’s healthcare infrastructure, supporting remote communities, accelerating diagnostics and strengthening emergency response where traditional air transport is too inconvenient, too costly or simply unavailable.
A big thank you to all involved. This simulation marks an important step toward turning advanced unmanned operations into real societal value.
The next chapter of medical logistics is already taking shape.
