Our Team

Our Founder and Chairman Michael Savback is a respected pillar of the international helicopter community and beyond. Widely recognised for his proud reputation for providing trusted, independent, exemplary customer service and a passion for innovation in vertical flight. His diverse aerospace & aviation experience extends across a wide range of rotary and fixed wing types, markets and missions.

Before setting up Savback Helicopters Michael worked in key technical and commercial roles for SAAB and Karlebo Aviation in addition to serving in the military as a mechanic on the iconic Saab Draken fighter. Michael holds both a Commercial Helicopter and Private Fixed Wing licence.

Reja teamed up with Michael at Savback bringing a combination of strategy, business development and extensive marketing experience into the mix. She commenced her journey at the company’s marketing department, as Sales & Marketing Director. Over time, she has become more involved with the operational aspect of the business, earning the titles of Chief Operating Officer & Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to joining the Savback team, Reja has been in charge of several business projects for clients in the luxury automotive, property and transport sector among other, and held multiple board positions.

Reja is at the forefront of the business leading future partnership discussions and business strategy including marketing. Reja holds a master’s degree in Finance and Strategy.

Chairman of the Board and Lawyer Mats Koffner is a valued member of the Savback Helicopters team, bringing a unique blend of legal expertise and a passion for aviation to the company. Graduating from the Royal Naval Academy as a navyintendent in 1966, Mats later earned a bachelor's degree in law from Lund University.

Mats has served in various capacities as a judge at the District Court of Gothenburg and the Court of Appeals for Western Sweden from 1973 to 1980. In 1980, Mats joined a Law firm in Gothenburg, where they remained a prominent figure in the legal community for an impressive 41 years, until 2021. During this period, Mats became an Attorney and became a member of the Swedish Bar Association in 1982. Their legal practice primarily focused on business law, encompassing areas such as contract law, corporate law, insolvency law, aviation law, and transactions. From 1982 until 2007, Mats accepted appointments as a bankruptcy administrator, showcasing their commitment to upholding the principles of justice in financial matters.

Part of the Savback Helicopters team since 2009, Mats is an accomplished helicopter pilot, holding a helicopter flight certificate. Over the years, they have amassed an impressive 1,500 flight hours on various turbine-powered helicopters.

Brigadier General (ret) Fredrik Bergman has as a background in the Swedish Air Force and is a trained fighter pilot with over 2000 hours of flight experience. He gained his pilot training in the Air Force Flying Training School in Ljungbyhed and in the Air Force War Academy in Uppsala. He graduated from the Swedish Defence College’s Advanced Command Course in 2003. He has a Master degree in Military Operational Art and Science from Air University in USA.

Fredrik has been Squadron Commander for two different Fighter Squadrons and has served in the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters as Head of Air Force Training and Development Staff.

In 2011, he was appointed Commanding Officer for the Swedish unit FL 02 during the international military operation Unified Protector over Libya. After his return to Sweden, he has served as Commanding Officer of the Norrbotten Wing, F 21 in Luleå.

In January 2015, Fredrik was assigned by the Supreme Commander to lead the work with the Swedish Armed Forces' long-term change and development work. Fredrik has also served as Chief of Staff and Deputy Head of the Swedish Armed Forces Communications Department.
Brigadier General Fredrik Bergmans last assignment was as Head of Test & Evaluation at Swedish Defence Material Administration, FMV. After 35 years of military service, he retired from the Swedish Armed Forces in August 2022.

Tomasz Kępczyński joined Savback Helicopters in the role of Contract and Compliance Director.

Tomasz is a qualified Legal Counsel with proven track record of utilizing contractual, corporate and business advisory skills to expertly support its clients' businesses. Offering 20+ years of experience effectively fulfilling duties, achieving outstanding results for clients in a variety of legal matters.

Thanks to years of work as advisor to family office he can understand the business needs and goals of his clients and propose the most efficient legal solutions.

Axel Mård joined the Savback Helicopters Client Services team after having gained valuable commercial and technical experience working for a start-up clothing brand as their Marketing Manager and E-commerce developer. In addition to providing regular communication with clients and the key responsibility for marketing our helicopters through targeted social channels, Axel also compiles, checks for accuracy and designs our spec sheets and other marketing materials as well as making regular updates to our website content. Axel holds a Degree in Media and Communication science from Jönköping University, Sweden.

Ksenya Tsymbaliy joined Savback Helicopters in the role of Sales & Marketing Assistant. With her knowledge of International Economics, together with her multilingual skills and extensive history of working with lead generations she has proven to be a valued member of the team.

Isabelle Malmström joined the Savback Helicopters team in the role of financial manager. Isabelle has a degree in accounting and a broad experience of economy in various industries. With a dedication to numbers and accuracy, Isabelle keeps the books in order.

Bo Joined Savback as Technical Advisor and independent inspector on different helicopter types and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team. His impressive CV reflects a long and diverse career in both rotary and fixed-wing aviation.

Bo’s capability includes multiple platform experience in civil and military roles including time spent at Saab, Skyways and Patria providing engineering, inspection and CAMO services. Types include: Black Hawk, MD90 and MD87, Embraer145 and Saab340. Bo holds valid EASA & Military Aircraft Maintenance Licenses.

Experienced Cat 1 Test pilot Peter Wallgren joined Savback Helicopters as Senior Advisor.

Peter’s CV reflects a long career as an experimental test pilot in rotary wing aviation. His capabilities include experience in both military and civil roles, such as being a utility helicopter pilot in the Swedish Air Force, a test pilot at FMV Test and Evaluation Centre, and HEMS pilot at Svensk Luftambulans. Peter holds a valid EASA License (ATPL), including a Cat 1 Test pilot rating. He has converted on 15 different helicopter types (e.g. NH90, A109-LUHS, AS350 and EC-145)
