Sustainability

Our environmental conscience is very important for us, as well as our clients.

Sustainability is naturally centre-stage in the industry and something manufacturers and suppliers are working hard to improve. We will always do our best to promote and push for a better tomorrow and we will bring the green debate to the table with all our partners and suppliers.

We are using our influence to advise clients on the environmental performance of different models of aircraft and developing different digital tools for the market and our customers that enable more environmentally-friendly processes and practices.

We also provide and arrange local pre-buy inspections for customers in order to avoid unnecessary traveling. In terms of making a difference in the way we operate ourselves – we focus on digitalization and ways to reduce our own impact on the environment as much as possible.

On the operational side, several of the aircraft that we have sold to clients are used in a positive manner for the environment, with tasks such as liming and fertilizing, compensating the net carbon footprint of the operator.

Liming and fertilizing by helicopter is a sustainable way to manage our agricultural land and water resources. Spreading fertilizer and lime makes economic sense and benefits the environment. Spraying by helicopter ensures an even coverage and that the natural terrain and vegetation is not disturbed by the process.

Future forests: Fertilization of forests by helicopter does not impact soil acidity levels, it accelerates tree growth meaning growers achieve higher lumber prices and lower operating costs. It is also a tax-deductible expense.

Liming lakes: Spreading lime over lakes and rivers enhances biological diversity and returns fish stocks to natural levels benefitting the fishing industry and enhancing long-term sustainability of resources.

Pastoral pH: Many grazing lands have low acidic pH levels which cause the pastures to deteriorate significantly. A harmful cycle may ensue that can be harmful to livestock. If the pastures pH falls below 5.5 pH this may be irreversible, so it makes both environmental and
economic sense to use precautionary measures and bring pH levels up, thus securing the value of grazing lands.

Helicopter operators are showing that non-intrusive spraying with the correct dose of fertilizer is good for both the environment and the farmers’ bottom line.
